Full Version: 03 Raptor 660 starter/clutch problem

It has been sounding pretty bad the last few days. Now it just spines when I try to start it. I took the cover off of the starter and all the teeth are in real good shape. I am afraid to take the clutch apart with no direction on what way to take.

See if you can look at the teeth on the fly wheel....it might be missing teeth. I dont know any thing about the clutch.

Your one-way is out.You will have to pull the whole cover off on the starter side to replace it. Look for a la-oneway they are the best gears out there.

Txraptor is right. This is a VERY common problem with the 03's. I've heard of guys having to replace them every year.
