I know Desert Hawk is familiar with this, however, does anyone have any information on riding and camping in Wickenburg, Arizona?

The day after Thanksgiving, some friends and their families as well as mine are looking to do some riding and camping. We did not want to venture too far due to the fact we will only be their two days.

I am open to suggestions, so any information is appreciated (the more detailed the better)

Go NORTH past the Rodeo Grounds

When you get to the 1st "Y" stay left
on Blue Tank Rd.

Ton's of places after the 1st sharp curve to the left
and places for every type of riding style cool.gif

About 3miles in we'll have a group of 40 out there
for the entire week with all sorts of activities...Swing by biggrin.gif

It's our annual Turkey Week for the http://www.forum2.southwestriders.com/index.php

Lots of Kids & Dogs laugh.gif

if your up to it I'll take ya on a pre-ride wink.gif

Great information Desert Hawk, I may have to take you up on that pre-ride.

Rodeo Grounds?? Is that a road off of the main road? Sorry, I have never been up around there before.

If there is an even going on, we have just have to pick that area...sounds like fun!

Head West on Hy#60

When you get to the McDonalds in Wickenberg
take the 1st right BEFORE the parking lot

Follow that around and at the stop sign
turn RIGHT follow that out to the next
stop sign head Left,The rodeo grounds
will be ½ up on the right keep going
in another couple of miles it turns to
a dirt road and your there biggrin.gif

The 1st "Y" is about 4 miles in and watch for oncoming
traffic on the switchbacks wink.gif

Most of this area will require a State Land Permit

Great, thank you I know just where that is!

What is the camping like...pretty much desert?

Also, I thought there were some old "ghost towns" there...can they be reached from that location?

Lastly, is there enough riding for the little ones as well as riding for the big ones moto.gif
